Olivia Montes
Class of 2022
Major/Minor: Communications and Media Studies (CMS)/Political Science Double Major, English/Journalism Editing and Publishing (JEP) Minor
I chose Washington College because I was drawn to a small, liberal arts-based school that specialized in the promotion of writing of all kinds for all available majors and minors. I was also drawn to the idea of professors dedicated to getting to know the students in their classes and the growing number of clubs and organizations on campus. I chose WAC because I wanted to be a part of this close-knit community and family, and challenge myself as a writer through everything this school has to offer.
Favorite Chestertown Hangout: ‘The Book Place’; it’s a great place to A) snuggle up with a good book, and B) snuggle up with a good book and a cat.
Recommended Class/Professor: Take anything that Dr. Grosse and/or Dr. Kozma have to offer!
Favorite Way to Procrastinate: Watching Hulu and Netflix, particularly Mystery Science Theatre 3000, The Good Place, or Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
Favorite Hobbies: Reading, writing, singing, and dancing.
Favorite Quote: ”If every pork chop were perfect, we wouldn’t have hot dogs.” - Steven Universe
